Practical Ways To Stay Positive - A Guide To Positive Living



My student recently asked during a group discussion..."How Do We Stay Strong and Positive All The Time?"

I thought that was a great question! (Though a really tough one to answer.lol) but I feel compelled to share my personal thoughts and perspectives on positive mindset that have helped me get through the tough times in life.

Let's face it! It's never easy to stay strong and positive 24/7. Telling others to "Stay Strong & Positive" can sound rather cliche. However, there are ways to cultivate a strong and positive mindset that can help you tackle life's obstacles.

When we encounter a problem, it's normal to feel scared and worried, but we must take accountability and find ways to resolve them. Running away is never a solution, so be brave to face the challenges.

Personally, I believe "No Problem Is Permanent". Every tough situation teaches you something valuable and it develops your strength and wisdom in the long run. Many times, we don't know how strong we are until we push ourselves everyday and refuse to quit!๐Ÿ’ช


           

Positive Mind. Positive Vibes. Positive Life!

Cultivating a strong mindset is a long process, it is not an overnight skill. It can takes years and some nasty lessons to build a powerful mental structure. Staying positive is built through small, intentional daily habits.  
 
Here are some practical ways to cultivate a positive mindset :

1) Reframe Challenges as Lessons 
When something goes wrong, instead of asking "Why is this happening to me?", try asking "What is this teaching me?" If you always see yourself as a victim, you will always feel stuck. Shifting your focus to the lessons moves you from a victim mindset to a growth mindset. 

2) Limit "Vent-Cycles"
While it is okay to express frustration but venting about the same issues can keep you stuck in a negative loop. Set a timer for 5 minutes to vent, then pivot the conversation toward a solution or a different topic. Stay away from negative news, gossips and unhealthy chats.
 
3) Embrace Positive Self-Talk
Pay attention to your inner critic. If you wouldn't say it to a friend, don't say it to yourself. Replace "I messed up" with "I’m still learning how to do this." Be your own cheerleader and your biggest supporter. Acknowledge your progress, achievements and transformation. You did awesome! ๐Ÿ‘

         

4) Focus on What You Can Control 
Anxiety often comes from over-worrying about things outside our influence. Many things we worry about never happen. When you feel overwhelmed, list what you can actually change and pour your energy there. If you feel drained, take a short break to rest, but don't quit. Never dwell on things that you can't change. Accept what has happened and move forward. Some endings are truly blessings in disguise.

5) Connect with Uplifting People
Energy is contagious. Spend more time with people who encourage you and make you feel seen, heard and understood. Set boundaries with those who consistently drain your battery. Hanging out with the right circle does shape your mindset and well-being.


         

The Power Of Positive Thinking

Everyone has been through adversity. I have experienced some setbacks and struggles that almost broke me, but I'm glad I keep going and I did not quit. Life has taught me many important lessons that made me who I am today. 
 
Understand that life isn't a bed of roses, there will be trials and tribulations. Even though we may not always get much support and assistance, but remind yourself that strength is within you and you can overcome obstacles and rise above fear. If you stay positive in a negative situation, you win! ;)
 
If you are currently in a difficult situation and dealing with some problems... I hope you remain strong and keep pushing forward, things will get better and your story isn't finished yet. Never give up on yourself! You deserve the positive outcome...and good things take time.

I love inspirational quotes and I write my own quotes on Pinterest based on my personal life experiences. When my readers/strangers sent me positive feedback and sweet thank-you notes.(*Thanks for all the Dms/Emails.๐Ÿ˜Š) It warms my heart and motivates me to keep sharing my heartfelt advice and knowledge.
 
I believe many life stories are amazing inspiration. Sometimes a book, a podcast, an article or a conversation can elevate our vision. A few words of wisdom can truly change your life.

              

Conclusion :

Ultimately, positive living is not the absence of struggles, but the presence of strength and resilience. It is the conscious choice to focus on progress over perfection and to seek out the "silver linings" without ignoring the reality of the clouds. By shifting your perspective from what is lacking to what is possible, you transform positivity from a fleeting emotion into a sustainable way of life.

Exclusive Blog : Healthy Minds.Happy Lives!❤️

                  

Mental wellness is essential for a fulfilling life. By understanding its importance and taking steps to promote mental well-being, we can create a healthier and happier society.

Everyone experience different challenges in our daily life. Mental health impact how we feel, how we think and how we behave, therefore, it is so important to maintain good mental well-being to achieve healthy living.

Highlight of the event :

I attended a community event recently that discuss about the "Journey Of Mental Wellness" The speakers shared some great tips, simple ways to control our emotions and we did some light workout that helps with relaxation.



It was a pleasure to meet Ms Felicia Chin (*Channel 8 MediaCorp Actress) in person, she is one of the guest/speaker in this event, a warm, friendly and down-to-earth lady. Personally, I love her acting skills in the local drama series. Felicia shared her personal experience on mental health and some tips to promote healthy living. We took a quick wefie after the event...

                                                             
The talk was conducted in Mandarin. It was informative, engaging and well organised by the community partners and I learned much more about mental wellness so I would like to share some information with my readers...

Here are my thoughts and personal tips to maintain healthy mental wellness (*This is not a medical advice*)


                

1Get Enough Sleep 
Rest is important for everyone. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. Establish a regular sleep schedule, create a relaxing bedtime routine, and optimize your sleep environment.

2. Stress Management
Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga etc. Engage fun activities, move your body or listen to your favourite uplifting music (*I recommend Taylor Swift songs!lol๐Ÿ˜„) to reduce stress levels.


3. Prioritize Self-Care
Take a break when you need to. Make time for activities that bring you joy and excitement, such as singing, dancing, light sports, spending time in nature, or try out new hobbies.

4. Social Connection 
Connect with others. Don't stay at home all day. Go out and have fun! Spend some quality time with family and friends, join a support/interest group, or volunteer your time. Stay active, plan your day and keep yourself occupied.


5. Healthy Diet
Avoid over-eating or starving. Have a balanced, nutritious diet and drink enough water everyday. Eating well is living well! :)


6. Build A Calm & Positive Mindset
Stay calm in every situation and try not to overthink and overreact. Pause and take a deep breath. Remember, you are not alone, every problem has a solution! :)


7. Seek Professional Help
If you're struggling with mental health, do not suffer in silence, get the right help and support. Community service/Grassroots networks & associates provide resources, support and guidance through difficult times.

GEWR 2024 : Mummy + Me Women's Race (Finisher Medals Achieved)๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ…



The Great Eastern Women's Run (GEWR 2024) was held at Singapore Sports Hub (National Stadium) on 27 Oct 2024. It was an all-women's race with more than 12000 participants.

There are a few categories for the women's race : 21.5Km, 10Km, 5Km, 2Km Mummy+Me (5-12yo) and 100m Princess Dash.(3-6yo)

Initially, I planned to sign up for the 5km run as an individual, but since my daughter is really keen to join the event, we signed up for the 2KM Mummy + Me Category instead. The distance is much shorter but I think it's a good start for young children, especially when they are first timers.

 

This is the first time I'm running with my 9yo daughter (*Girl in pink cap) and I enjoy this sweet maternal bonding activity.๐Ÿ’ž

Let's Run..My Little Warrior!๐Ÿƒ‍♀️

We arrived at the stadium around 7:30 am. It was a lovely morning and a nice weather for outdoor activities. Minister Mr Edwin Tong flagged off the 2km race at 8am and here we go...

The road was closed for the event, it was pretty crowded but still a smooth flow and we moved in a steadily speed. Every runner is so excited and eager to reach the finishing line within the cut-off time to receive our medals.

Keep Going...Never Quit! ๐Ÿ’ช

At some point, my daughter was feeling a little tired and I told her... "S, it's normal to feel tired..just keep walking but don't quit. We are almost there!๐Ÿ˜Ž" Every child need some words of encouragement and motivation. We made it and finished the race in less than 30mins.Yay!✌️

The 2km run is fairly easy and manageable for majority of the adults & older kids but the most challenging part is running and videoing at the same time,lol..but I have to capture and document these precious moments, it's all worth it! ๐Ÿฅฐ

The medal is super cute with Cinnamoroll on it. My daughter is over the moon with her first medal and I am really proud of my baby for completing the race. We took lots of photos together and I hope this medal will motivate my daughter to achieve her goals as she grows...

Relax, Recharge and Enjoy...

       



     

We got some energy boosters and refreshments after the race, there were fun activities at the stadium for everyone, my daughter was thrilled to see Cinnamoroll dancing on the stage. Awww...He is so kawaii that I want to cuddle!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

My personal goal for this year is to achieve 3 medals by end of 2024 and I did it! I'm not much of an athlete nor a professional runner but I do enjoy sports!๐Ÿ€ Every award/medal means a lot to me, it reminds me of the efforts, perseverance and determination to complete the race! Every participation feels different and very memorable experiences for me.

Running/doing sports is a great way to build stamina, physical health, willpower, inner strength and more...

I look forward to more sports/running events with my family & friends and to achieve more medals to my best abilities! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ’ช

I'm pleased to be part of this fabulous event, it's amazing to meet so many incredible women, mummies, sisters, daughters coming together for this running event to empower wellness, fitness, and embracing an active, healthy lifestyle!
