Practical Ways To Boost Self-Confidence

Living in a surreal and competitive world today, we are challenged to cope with emotions, work ethics and tackle different situations. Good interpersonal skills and self-confidence can enrich work performance, social equity and welcome doors of opportunity. Self-confidence is trusting your abilities to handle obstacles and resolve problems in a productive manner.

However, most people struggle some form of insecurities in relationships, financial, body image, social anxiety from time to time and feel withdrawn from life temporarily, this is perfectly normal, since it is not humanly possible to feel positive and be confident 24/7. Self-confidence isn't an overnight process, but the good news is, we can cultivate and master this skill. There are several ways to build self-confidence that we can practice in our daily life.

Speaking from an introvert whom I used to be in my teens. Self-confidence can take years to develop, but through life experience, adversity and major breakthroughs, the transition has evaluate my strength, knowledge and confidence today, so allow me to share some humble tips and advice from *my personal experience.

Here are some practical ways to boost Self-Confidence...(You're welcome!๐Ÿ˜‰)

Smile
A friendly smile is the best ice-breaker for any social events/activities and meeting new people. Smiles are pleasing and captivating, it makes a person appear warm, lovable and approachable. A genuine smile never goes wrong! You may even attract secret admirers.lol๐Ÿ˜„

Maintain Eye Contact
Keep your eyes on the person as you speak, it's a sign of confidence and showing interest, but if you feel awkward and uncomfortable to look deep into their eyes. (*Try looking at the nose or the center region of the face) Avoid fidgeting too much, looking away or glancing your phone. Your body language reflects your confidence.

Speak Clearly and Concisely
Speak with a bright tone and a normal speed. Don't mumble the words or speaking too fast and too soft. Be diplomatic in a conversation and speak tactfully with respect. That way, people are more likely to listen and pay attention to your speech.

Keep Your Word
If you made a promise or a mutual agreement, be responsible and get things done in order. When we uphold our words, we show trust, respect, reliability and commitments. Confidence is often built on accomplishments.

Do The Right Thing
I value good morals and justice. At times, you must speak up, be seen, be heard and stand up for yourself when there is a problem or something is wrong. Stand firmly on what you believe and act with integrity. Do what is right, not what is easy!

Dress Up and Be Well-Groomed
The right outfits, designs,
style and colors can enhance your appearance and boost self-confidence. You don't need to dress like a model or have the perfect body to look cool! The key is to dress smart, comfortably and appropriately. Make some efforts to groom yourself, take care of your skin, hair and wear some light make-ups, it will make you look more radiant and refreshed. When you look good, you definitely feel great!๐Ÿฅฐ

Identify Your Strengths
Acknowledge your achievements and focus on your strengths. Everyone has some special skills and talents, it could be playing music, singing, writing, cooking/baking, painting, sports etc...If you are passionate and good at something, improvise the skills to develop creativity and innovations.

Self-Improvement and Feed More Knowledge
Read everyday, about the world, the economy and upgrade yourself. The world is moving so fast with ultra-modern technologies and new projections for the future. An intelligent mind is outstanding, it offers constructive ideas and insightful information. You will feel much confident when you are well-informed and knowledgeable.

Self-Acceptance and Know Your Worth
Learn to accept who you are and love yourself! No one is perfect but don't settle for less than you deserve! I firmly believe everyone is unique in their own ways, so never compare yourself to others. Confidence Has No Competition! We all have different perspectives, standards and priorities. Don't live by other's opinions, criticisms and validations. Live your life in your own terms and pursue what matters most. Strive for success, happiness and achieve your aspirations.

Strong Conversational Skill
Good communication is a powerful tool in all aspects of life. Personally, I do NOT encourage any type of silent treatment or ghosting,etc...It's toxic, boorish, incompetent and unprofessional in my honest opinion. Never run away from problems, be brave to face it! Silence and avoidance will never resolve anything and in fact, it cause more misunderstanding and confusions. Be mature and open to accept feedback and suggestions.

Unfortunately, most people don't listen to understand, they listen with the intent to reply. Learn to express your thoughts, emotions calmly and listen without judging. A low-esteem, poor communicator will avoid any discussions and clarity, while a confident speaker initiate a conversation to work things out and resolve conflicts/disputes. The way we react and handle various situations display the level of confidence.

Indeed, self-confidence is one of the most important traits to success, along with a strong mentality and positive attitude towards life...
Be Confident NOT Arrogant! :)

Remember, it doesn't matter what professions, age, gender and ethnicity, everyone can learn to be more confident at any phrase to embrace self-growth, intellectual qualities and massive transformations!๐Ÿ‘

Knowledge Is Power! (Never Stop Learning) ๐Ÿ“š

Let's face it! In this society and the generation that we are living today, competition is everywhere around us...In school, at work, in a job interview, etc. Therefore, learning is essential for everyone! Good education systems and resources are very important for our future generations.

In my opinion, competitions aren't always negative and stressful... Sometimes, it can be a form of motivation to strive better. Everyone aims for the best and no one like to fail. The more knowledge and skills you have, the better chance to succeed and achieve your goals.

As parents, we want the best for our children. Don't we? Since the day they were born, we are constantly teaching them to walk, talk, write, read, helping them to build up their motor skills with educational toys and learning tools in their early years.

We send our children to school to learn different subjects, languages, moral values and social skills that would help them in their adulthood in the years to come. I am sure every parent want their child to shine like a star, to have a bright future and hope they'll be successful in life.

Parents and teachers play an important role in a child's learning journey. As a work-at-home mum, I'm always looking for good learning materials for my little ones. I encourage my children to learn as much as they can. That way, they can excel, explore new things, to discover their potential and talents.

My job as a parent is to give my children the best support they need, guide them in life and help them build a good attitude in learning.

I'm glad that with the advanced technology and resources we have today, there are many helpful educational materials to make learning fun and interesting for both children & adults.

The mind of a child is full of curiosity, they are always eager to explore and learn. Children are attracted to bright colors, funny faces and colorful pictures, that is why cartoons are their top favorite channels. So, with the right educational tools, learning can be full of joy and excitement.

I recently came across an interesting website with lots of cool themed worksheets that are customized for children in different age groups. They sent me some worksheets the other day and I would like to share with my readers. There are many lovely designs and different types of worksheets on their website (eg: maze, puzzles, games, mathematics, word tracer and more...) I think the kids would love them!

These worksheets can help the kids to improve their spelling, grammars, vocabulary, writing skills and penmanship as well. Afterall, practice makes perfect! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I teach my son spelling every week. (He is Primary 2 this year) I guide him to write proper sentences in his compositions and to speak with confidence during his Show & Tell presentation in school and..........Happiness is when your child brings home his Spelling test with a full score! (10/10) Well done, Son! Mummy is very proud of you! Keep up the good work! ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ‘

Personally, I'm not one who focus too much on academic results. For me, I believe life is more than just getting good grades, there are things like morality and EQ that are equally important. However, I believe in learning as much as possible, to gain knowledge. I want my kids to enjoy learning every day and have a pleasant school life. As I mentioned in my earlier blog, education is indeed important because the world needs future doctors, scientists, lawyers, engineers, etc..

Knowledge is power! Knowledge comes from learning and leaders never stop learning. Education is the key ingredient to achieve long term success!

Every child deserves the best education!
Whether you are a parent or a teacher...I believe we share the same goal, to improve our children's lives and to build a better future.
