SKECHERS Friendship Walk 2024 - Finisher Medal Achieved🏅

National Best Friends/Friendship Day is celebrated every year on June 8, so my bestie and I decided to sign up for Skechers Friendship Walk 2024.

      

        

Our Friendship Bonding...

Despite my busy schedule, I love spending time with my close kakis whenever I'm free. I enjoy fun and sporty events...and since I have done the 5KM prosperity run in Feb this year, a 4KM walk should be much easier, so let's go for it! What a way to celebrate our friendship.

Walking/running is a great way to stay active and healthy. For me, it embrace strength, determination and self-motivation. Ever since I started long distance run/walk, I am more determined and focused on my goals and I don't quit easily...I will do my best to achieve them!😉

 

So there are 2 catalogues. The 10KM Run and 4KM Walk. Well, I know my limits,lol. I'll stick to a shorter distance for now and maybe I'll challenge the 10KM run next time.😁

 

💡Quick Tip: 

The 4km is a comfortable distance for most people and I would recommend for starters and amateurs. Wearing proper and comfortable footwear is a must for long distance running/walking and stay hydrated! Safety is a top priority! Never hurt yourself by pushing over the limits.

Let's Go Buddy!💪

The 4KM friendship walk flagged off around 6pm at OCBC Centre, Singapore Sports Hub/National Stadium. 

We were waiting patiently on the track, all set and ready to move. About 5000 participants turned up for the event. Yep! it was super crowded and overwhelming...but thankfully, we are blessed with a lovely and cooling weather so the evening walk was pretty smooth...

 

 

Yay, we made it! We completed the 4KM challenge within an hour and received a finisher medal at the finishing line. The medal is sleek and sturdy. Neat..I love it! This is my second finisher medals this year and I hope to achieve more!✌️

Ah there! I found my name, somewhere in the middle. Everyone were searching for their name and taking a shot to capture this special moment of achievement. I really love the Nameboard idea, how creative and good effort! 🥰🫰

Evening Entertainment :

The highlight of the evening is the performance by Qiu Feng Ze (Kenny Khoo), Singapore singer/song writer and the ambassador of Skechers Singapore. The fans in the crowd went wild when he started singing and interacting with his fans...

I saw many local celebrities and familiar faces at the event. There were sport games booth, lucky draw, live bands and stage performances for everyone. Great entertainment! 😎

 

Personally, SKECHERS is one of my favourite sport brands. I love their unique designs and the high quality apparels.

The Event Pack :

The Skechers event t-shirt is good quality, quick dry & comfy and I love Blue!!! The drawstring bag and waterproof sling bag are perfect for sport activities. Nice! 

It was fabulous evening and a fun filled experience for me. It's really heart-warming to see many families, friends, couples, seniors and young children having a wonderful bonding time together. I'm so glad to be part of this amazing event. Good job SKECHERS! Keep up the great work!👍

Hence, I would definitely be joining more walks/runs in the near future. See you at the next flag off! 😎🏁

Private Event : People's Association CERT 20th Anniversary Family Day @Gardens By The Bay

              

Spending time with family is priceless and every fun outings are memorable...

I am honoured to be a part of this wonderful family day private function @Gardens By The Bay to celebrate People's Association CERT 20th Anniversary - Building Resilient Communities.

       

About The CERT :

The CERT Singapore (Community Emergency Response Team ) is an organised group of specially trained volunteers (First Responders) to provide basic first-aid support, assistance and restore safety during an emergency/crisis in the community. The team is formed by the neighbourhood committees, grassroots leaders and residents living in the vicinity.

My kids had a wonderful time and we took lots of photos and videos at the event...There were music performance, magic show, live band, buffet, foodstation, photo booth and the beautiful Tulipmania gallery at Flower Dome.

A Big Family Bonding! 

It's been a great pleasure and privilege to celebrate this heart-warming event as a one big family! 

 

I enjoy social interactions, gatherings and meeting new people. Ah yes! I love the warm, variant high energy in the house and the enchanting interior settings too..Gotta' snap some pics! The ceiling lightings and display reminds me of the sweet and cute colourful sphere marshmallows.lol. What a lovely sight!😊

 

              

Music Entertainment and Song Request...🎶

So we get to request our favourite songs. Cool! Everyone were having so much fun, chilling, singing along and grooving to great music! (*My daughter and I are Swifties..so I have to request a Taylor Swift song cos' my kids love this song! 🥰🤭🫶)

Community Goals : Resilience and Steadfast!💪💙

Personally, I've always believe in giving back to the society and to contribute my humble support. 

Volunteers are important and much needed in all constituencies & departments in the country to empower strong support and resources for our community. 

 

In my journey as a grassroots leader for community service, I have learned so much from my seniors and many opportunities to meet amazing people in the networks over the years...It's been a rewarding learning experience that elevates my knowledge, leadership and interpersonal skills etc..Most importantly, it brings a sense of gratification and fulfillment that money can't buy! :)

 

I take this opportunity to express my appreciation and recognition for every contribution, time & efforts and a warm shout-out to the CERT teams and the volunteers for all their hard work to keep the people safe and building resilient communities' for decades! 

 

Happy 20th Anniversary CERT! Keep up the good work...and together we can embrace community strength and resilience for our nation. Cheers to many happy years to come! ❤️🇸🇬
