Review : Unilever Buffet @Jalan Pemimpin

Are you a foodie who enjoys great-tasting food and love exploring new restaurants in town?

Singapore is a food paradise and you can easily find restaurants anywhere around the country. Buffets are great values and one of the most popular dining ideas that offer a wide variety of food options that allow diners to eat all you can.

Recently, my son and I tried this Seafood and BBQ Buffet restaurant located at Jalan Pemimpin.(Bishan)

New Restaurant In Town...

UNILEVER BUFFET is a newly opened Seafood & BBQ All-In-One Buffet restaurant that served a combination of international buffet selection and a DIY BBQ buffet concept.

Their highlight menu includes :

▪️ Fresh Salmon Sashimi
▪️ Fresh Snow Crab Leg
▪️ Fresh Australia Oyster
▪️ Fresh New Zealand Mussel
▪️ Fresh Cold Prawn
▪️ Singapore Chilli Crab
10 Types Marination of Meat (Chicken, Pork, Beef, Fish, Seafood) and 10 Types Condiments for Dipping.

Tasty and Flavorful! Mmmm...

With a wide selection of marinated meat and seafood menu, they also served cooked dishes such as Chilli Crab, Cereal Prawns, Fried Rice/Noodles, Veggies, Sweet & Sour Fish, Refreshments, Fruits, Drinks, Desserts and more...

The restaurant is cozy with a classic interior. The place is not overly crowded, so you can chill and take your time to enjoy the food. The staffs are friendly, warm and polite. Thumbs up for good service! 👍

My son loves BBQ meat, we can't wait to try the Smokeless Electric BBQ Grill and start diggin'... Personally, I love the Snow Crab, Salmon, Prawns and the BBQ meat goes perfectly well with the rich and savory dipping sauce. Delish!

After a delightful seafood BBQ and a happy tummy, I gotta' try some yummy desserts to satisfy my sweet tooth.lol. There's always time for some comfort treats! 😉

Overall, we are satisfied with the food varieties, taste and their friendly service. It was a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience at Unilever Buffet.🥰👍

If you prefer to hang out in a less crowded, cozy ambience that is away from the city, you may like to check out Unilever Buffet and bring your friends along for a scrumptious Seafood & BBQ Buffet. Food taste better with family, friends and loved ones! 😊

🎬 K-Drama Review - Squid Game (2021)

Annyeong haseyo!...
I hope everyone is well and safe.

I know the past weeks were rough and it's been really demoralizing on the current outbreak situation, but let's try to stay strong and be optimistic that things will get better! Meanwhile, take a break and get off the news if you need to...

Well, staying at home can be productive too..if you have a well-organised daily routine to keep yourself occupied with indoor activities and entertainment. Someday, you need to slow down, relax and just chill! 😎

Squid Game - Watch it on Netflix!

Personally, I don't watch much Korean Drama series. As a busy Work-at-Home Mom, I can't sit for hours watching Netflix, but somehow the giant robot doll in Squid Game caught my attention..it brings back some childhood memories and I remember playing similar games when I was little...

“무궁화 꽃이 피었습니다”(mugunghwa kkochi  piotsseumnida)

For the longest time, I can't believe I actually watched all the episodes of Squid Game. I enjoyed the show, but some uncensored violent scenes were quite brutal and too graphic for younger viewers in my opinion, so Parental Guidance (PG) Is Advised⚠️

Despite the overwhelming scenes, the Squid Game reflects reality and there are some highlights that we can learn. I believe many have watched all the 9 episodes by now, but pardon me for those who haven't, I'll keep it brief! (Don't shoot me!😄)

Lessons Learnt From Squid Game (*Spoiler Alert⚠️)

Humanity
In the world filled with greed and temptations, it's insane what people will do for money. Perhaps, money is the root of evil?...You decide! I would suggest to stay away from any form of gambling, always have a strong financial reserve. Spend your money wisely and be debt-free!👍

🔺️Betrayal
The hard truth is, we can't always trust people! In life, there will be fake friends and dirty players who cheat to win. Unfortunately, some people does take advantage of kindness and generosity. Poor Ali (Player 199) was too pure for the game and trusted too easily. Damn, it hurts to be betrayed! So the moral of the story is - Trust No One! (Even salt look like sugar, remember that!)

🟥
Teamwork
The Tug of War Game remind us that no matter how big and strong your opponents are, the 'weaker' team can still win the challenge with the right technique, strategy and teamwork!

⭕ Friendship
I value and treasure genuine friendships! I Iove the part when Gi-Hun (Player 456) offered to team up with the elderly man II-nam (Player 001) for the marble game, it was a sweet gesture and there was a scene where he used his sweater to cover up for II-nam. Awww..friends for life! (Fist bump!🤜🤛)

🔺️Sacrifice
When Ji Yeong (Player 240) deliberately lost the marble game and her final words to Sae-byeok (Player 067). Gosh..I literally teared up, the scene really broke me! I had to pause as I couldn't digest that heartbreaking moment.💔 (Someone please pass me some Kleenex! 😢)

Sae-byeok is my favorite character in the show, she is cool, brave and one tough cookie! I love her strong and righteous personality. In most movies, I have a soft spot for the Heroes but never the villains! (Duh!) I guess I appreciate kind people more, in movies and in reality as well.

My favorite scene got to be the Honeycomb Game, the candy cutting looks really fun, so I tried making some that day...(Phew, I'm safe!)

All you need is 2 ingredients, Sugar and Baking Soda, but lots of patience to make a nicely-done Honeycomb Candy! I swear it's not as easy as it looks, but definitely a fun bonding with the little ones! Look at that, how cute! No wonder it's a global trend now.

In conclusion, the show is thrilling and intriguing! A great story structure and authenticity. I would rate 4.5/5 stars! Yeah, it's been a while since I watched such a sensational drama series that inspired me to share a heartfelt review on my blog. Nice work, Mr Director! (Hwang Dong-hyuk), you got a fan here, I can't wait for Season 2!😊

Keep Calm and Watch Netflix! Enjoy a great movie date with your loved ones! Ohh! don't forget the Chips and Popcorn too! 😋🍿🖥
