Best Lessons of 2020 ⭐

I love December!

For me, it's a time for self-reflection, express gratitude and to recap the summary of events as we countdown to the new year...

2020 has been a roller coaster ride and an overwhelming year for everyone. Many uncertainties, drastic changes, restrictions, new routines and we find ourselves moving in a slow motion...It's an extraordinary year for the generation, a year we will never forget!

Life isn't the same today, but let us stay strong and be positive always! Though the battle is not over yet, but give yourself a pad on the shoulder that we have made it this far and we will continue our best efforts to keep our family, loved ones and our community safe.

Despite all the challenges this year, there are many important lessons learned. Every crisis teaches us something new and the value of life. (*At least for me)

2020 has taught me...

1. Health Is The Greatest Wealth!
An outbreak can strike anytime without warning. A virus can be fatal and impose global health risks. No matter how wealthy you are, money can't buy health. Staying healthy and practice good hygiene is so important.

2. Never Take Anything For Granted
Life is precious and fragile. We watched many heartbreaking news, misfortune events and losses during this pandemic...Cherish your life and count your blessings. Spend quality time with your family/kids and create happy memories. Show love, affections and appreciation. Family time is priceless. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

3. Nothing Is Permanent.
I believe all problems have a solution. The storm shall pass and the sun will rise again!"When it rains, look for rainbows and when it's dark, look for stars..."

4. Value Friendships.
Friends come and go but the true ones stay! Difficult times reveal the truth of friendships. It's not the quantity of friends you have, it's the quality that matters. Real friends are hard to come by. Don't lose them.

5. Know Your Strength.
Human beings are capable to adapt changes. The initial stage is always a struggle but gradually, we will adjust to the new normal. Changes is part of life.

6. Slow Down and Breathe.
The outbreak has 'forced' us to slow down and plans are put on hold. It might not be a bad thing to take a break and make time for yourself, to recharge & re-evaluate your priorities/goals. The road is long and life is not a race.

7. Be Who You Are.
We don't need to impress anyone...and we can't please the world. Be yourself, stop competing with everyone and don't compare your life to others. There will always be someone smarter, stronger, richer and better. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Just do your best! The Sun and the Moon shines when it's their time.

8. Create Opportunities.
No one is too young or too old to learn anything. Stepping out of the comfort zone can bring new opportunities and explore new talents. The outbreak may restrict our movements but it doesn't stop us from learning. Don't wait for the 'perfect' time, the truth is you will never feel 100% ready, so just go for it!

9. It's OK To Make Mistakes.
We all make mistakes sometimes. No one is perfect, don't judge or beat yourself up. Every setback is another lesson. Learn from it and move on.

10. Be Flexible & Go With The Flow.
Many plans are cancelled or postponed due to the pandemic, I know it's disappointing when we can't travel this year but you don't always have to travel overseas to have fun and be happy. A staycay or an outing can be entertaining and exciting too. The Disney trip can wait...

In life, we can't always control the situations the way we want it, but we can learn to be resilient, accept changes, control our thoughts and focus on the positive side of every situation. Sometimes we have to motivate ourselves when no one else will. Tough times make us stronger and wiser, we will gain more knowledge, have better visions, and a broader prospective at the end of the day.

Remember that...Tough Situations Build Strong People!
